Lanzarote Airport is located approximately five kms from the island’s capital Arrecife between the towns of San Bartolome and Tias. Arrecife is quite a large bustling place with a wide range of shops and offices but we found that parking under the Gran Hotel, the tall one in the photograph wasn't a problem so it is ideal for a shopping trip, as it has the international shops that you would expect in a busy capital city. The weather in Arrecife is warm all year round. Lanzarote is by far the least mountainous of the Canary Islands and has a great deal of flat land. Due to this it is below the level of warm air and humidity. Mostly this results to a dry weather and very little rain.
